This is the housing data for Houston’s largest county, Harris County. The data on the left, under the red headings, compares December 2018 with December 2019. The number of sales increased 6.8%, and both median and average sales price increased. The data under the blue headings compare all of 2018 with all of 2019. While there was a nearly 10% increase in the number of active listings and a 4.2% increase in new listings, the number of homes sold also increased 2.7%. Both the median and average sales prices went up from 2018 to 2019. The median sales price of a single family home in Houston rose 3.8% is now $244,000 and the average sales price of a single family home rose 2.8% and is now $304,485. Overall, we can say the Houston market is healthy and growing, with all indicators pointing up.
